The GCC region’s heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC R) market is poised for solid growth over the next 10 years with Saudi Arabia alone accounting for over 50 per cent – worth $34 billion – of the total needed investments worth $34 billion, said senior experts ahead of a major industry event in Riyadh.

The kingdom’s largest event dedicated to the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry, HVAC R Expo Saudi will return to the Saudi capital for its fifth edition at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre from February 11 to 13, said the organiser dmg events.

The event is being supported by GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) and co-located with FM Expo and Saudi Clean Expo and Stone & Surface Saudi.

The announcement comes at a time when opportunities for HVAC R stakeholders in the Middle East market are growing exponentially.

The GCC’s investments in HVAC R systems is estimated to exceed $68 billion in total over the next decade, said the organiser, citing a recent report published by dmg events and Meed Projects.

Expecting to host over 80 exhibiting brands from around the world, it will be the region’s largest, three-day event of its kind presenting an unmissable platform for HVAC R industry professionals to network, do business and discover new technologies, he added.

GSO secretary general Saud Nasser Al Khusaibi said: “Our mission is to unify standardisation activities among the GCC member states in order to promote industry and to boost sustained development of the economy in turn. In light of this mission, GSO is participating at HVAC R Expo 2020 to provide the kingdom’s industry professionals with an overview of the latest technical legislation requirements applying to them and their field, and to encourage growth and development in the HVAC R sector,”
