Dubai Hospital to start work on new building in Q1

January 2020

The Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) Dubai Hospital has announced plans to build a four-storey building as part of its plans to expand its services across the emirate.

The building will include four floors, which will be home to 127 specialised clinics in the fields of ophthalmology, Internal medicine, orthopaedics, cardiovascular, endocrine, tumors, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental and reproductive medicine.

The 32,100-sq-m building, which is two and half times bigger than the existing specialised clinics in Dubai Hospital, will boast a lab, radiology facility, pharmacy and cafeteria in the ground floor, said the DHA.

The DHA said it has already secured a Dh25 million ($6.8 million) funding from Emirates Islamic Bank for the construction of the building. Work is likely to start in the first quarter of 2020, it added.

This expansion project aims to move existing specialised medical services in the hospital to the new building, in line with strategy of the DHA.
