• MAG breaks ground on $2bn Dubai mixed-use development

    OVER 5,000 RESIDENTIAL UNITS
    UAE-based MAG Development has broken ground on the ‘Mag City, a $2-billion mixed-use project featuring a total of 5,100 residential units in addition to retail and other amenities, located at Meydan District 7 in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, Dubai.

  • 39,000 new houses expected to complete in Dubai in 2019


    A total of 32,822 residential units in the freehold and non-freehold communities were completed in Dubai in the first nine months of the year and another 13,216 units have a completion date towards the end of 2019 or Q1 2020, new data revealed.

    Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has announced pilot operation of the world's first unmanned cooling plant at Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC) in Dubai, with a total cooling capacity of 50,000 Refrigeration Tonnes (RT).

  • Major Abu Dhabi road project set for 2020 completion


    Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) said work was progressing at a steady pace on the Dh223 million ($61 million) Ruwais-Ghayathi Road project in the Al Dhafra Region of the emirate and was likely to be completed in August next year.

    Master developer Nakheel has appointed Shatha Saif Al Suwaidi as the new managing director for its infrastructure project construction unit. Her current focus is delivery of key projects at Deira Islands, Palm Jumeirah and Madinat Al Arab.

    UAE-based Three60 Communities, a key provider of management services to residential and commercial communities, said it has recorded year-on-year energy and water savings to the tune of Dh4.75 million ($1.3 million) in the first nine months of 2019.

    Alshaya Group, a leading international franchise operator, this week announced plans to bring the Canopy by Hilton hotel brand to Kuwait. Slated to open in 2022, the hotel will be located on Arabian Gulf Street in the popular Bneid Al-Gar area.

  • Dubai RTA invites private sector to develop 1,500 bus shelters


    Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has invited private companies in the UAE and abroad to submit proposals for constructing about 1,500 bus shelters for the convenience of passengers awaiting public buses in several districts of the emirate.
